God chose Mary, an extra-ordinary, humble and faithful teenager, to be the mother of his son. Without hesitating, she said yes to God's plan to take over her life (LUKE 1:38). Mary's beautiful song, "The Magnificat," reveals her deep faith and remarkable insight: "My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior…the Mighty One has done great things for me…his mercy is to those who fear him from generation to generation. He has shown strength with his arm; he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts. He has brought down the powerful from their thrones, and lifted up the lowly; he has filled the hungry with good things, and sent the rich away empty…." (LUKE 1:46-53)
