OUR CHILDREN OF PROMISE

Rose, 17, is one of eight children living with her grandmother. Her parents are both deceased. She is in her third year of secondary school, and is interested in art. Rose, who will be 18 on 10 Feb., needs food, education, and health assistance. She is active in the Kasubi Church, one of 402 COG congregations in Uganda.

Mark, 11, is a fifth grader who likes basketball and singing. His dad Armando is a laborer and his mom Annabelle is a housekeeper. Mark has two younger sisters. He receives wholesome food, clothing, medicine, and Christian nurture in a COG congregation in Manila, Philippines.

Grandmothers for Peace Send Infant Care Kits to Iraq

ANDERSON, IN-The Indiana Chapter of GRANDMOTHERS FOR PEACE participated recently in the American Friends Service Committee's project of sending infant care kits to Iraq. Each kit contained two receiving blankets, washcloths, soap, a baby brush and comb, and $10 to pay for vitamins and shipping costs. The Indiana Chapter provided more than 50 kits and over $500. Each kit included a message translated into Arabic by George Abiad.

 

EASTERN CANADA PEACE ISSUES SEMINAR

Sieg Pudel, Pastor of Hope Community Church, Brampton, Ontario, chaired the committee that sponsored a first time Peace Seminar during the Eastern Canada Camp Meeting. Leaders hope that a Canadian COGPF can be launched. Maurice and Dondeena Caldwell represented the U.S. Steering Committee in the 16 August seminar. They presented a concise Bible study and highlighted the COG peace heritage. The 31 participants will receive a complimentary 1-year subscription to the PF Newsletter.

Longtime PF members Arthur and Evelyn Krueger were honored during a general service. Jim Wiebe, Assembly Chair, presented a plaque to the Kruegers in recongnition of their 40 years of dedicated and faithful ministry.
